Looking good never felt so right

We at Sassy love an elegant piece of jewellery with a conscience in mind, so when we spotted these beautiful pieces from TEMPUS, we immediately added them to our Christmas wish list! Made from reclaimed wood, TEMPUS Wood Watches are elegant and look great with any outfit. Best of all, because it’s an eco-friendly product, you won’t feel bad about getting one (or two, or three!) for all your family and friends this holiday season. These affordable, biodegradable timepieces for both men and women (ranging from US $69.99 to US $79.99) can easily be dressed up or dressed down, depending on your mood and style. They aren’t heavy on your wrist, but their simple sophistication make them a statement piece that will definitely get some looks of envy!

Inspired by a trip to Cu Chi Tunnel in Vietnam, the founder originally purchased a wooden bracelet from craftsmen who were affected by Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. He decided to create TEMPUS Wooden Watches, and the result is nothing less than a piece of jewellery anyone would cherish for years to come! The ideal gift, these uniquely designed watches are backed by a company that takes pride in its customer service and its product.

You Won’t Want to Miss Hong Kong’s New Symphony of Lights Show

Light it up!

On Friday, 1 December, ring in the weekend with the opening night of the newly redesigned A Symphony of Lights! Known the world over for captivating audiences, this new and improved version features a range of innovative light designs such as lasers, LED displays and more. It will now include lights on iconic buildings on both sides of the harbour. Combined with the melodic sounds of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, this brand new show is a truly dazzling experience.

One of our favourite free events, the show starts at 8pm, as usual but you’ll want to grab a spot early – especially on the first weekend. The prime vantage points for viewing the show are Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai and, if you’re keen for something a little different, we’d recommend watching the display from a boat or ferry! For a special treat, get a table at Aqua for a spectacular view.

Can’t make it to the opening night? The debut will also be livestreamed across social media platforms like Facebook and Youtube – so, even if you can’t physically attend, you won’t miss a minute of the stellar display!

From Friday, 1 December – Thursday, 28 December, A Symphony of Lights will be followed by the Hong Kong Pulse Light Show. You can view that from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Open Piazza.

VIDEO: Meet HHH’s Own {World Traveler}

Hey party people! I’m Cat, a Hoboken Happy Hours veteran as one of the first contributing writers onboard. When not on business trips for my travel industry gig, I’m relishing in everything Hoboken has to offer, like one-pound meatballs, people watching on Pier A, and two-for-one cocktail specials. These are just a few of my favorite Mile Square things. Voted Most Talkative in my high school class, some say I like the sound of my voice. Hopefully you do too. Enjoy this little ditty of a video about yours truly!

Video by Mike Migliaro

Featuring Cat Shaw

Cat is a New Jersey native and super proud of it. Her love of Hoboken becomes apparent when anyone from across the Hudson tries to degrade the beloved Mile Square. When not at her 9 to 5 travel industry gig, she can be found sweating it out in spin class, experimenting in the kitchen with her prized KitchenAid mixer, reading at Pier A, or—let’s be honest—devouring a Luca Brasi chicken parm sandwich while binge-watching Netflix.
