Sassy scopes out Hong Kong’s newest eateries
Because Hong Kong’s dining scene is ever changing, we want to give you a head’s up on all the latest restaurants that have opened in our beloved city. From contemporary fine dining to Michelin-starred menus, here’s what’s new in the 852.
Still under wraps, we got word this new “boisterous, tandoor chophouse” will open soon, and we are super excited to try out its specialties from Pakistan and India (yum!). Keep checking back – we’ll be letting you know all the deets as soon as we get them!
The New Punjab Club, 34 Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong
Head over to the New Territories to try out the recently opened Ana Sushi. Bringing seasonal, fresh catch off the coast of Japan to Hong Kong, signature dishes will include: a Takayama-inspired Hida Beef Sushi on Shrimp Cracker ($238 for three pcs), Ox Tongue with Bean Paste Sauce ($88), Chicken Wing Stuffed with Foie Gras ($68), and ANA Sushi ($78), and get ready to try out the executive chef’s creations, Matsuba Crab and Sea Urchin Rice in Stone Pot ($168) and Minced Fatty Tuna with Rice Cracker ($58).

Chef Siu Hin Chin, formerly of Duddell’s, (who has earned 15 Michelin stars in nine years!) will be heading up this new fine dining Cantonese restaurant. It will open next month and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us!

Just opened on Wellington Street is a newly opened takeout place that aims to lessen the amount of waste (both in food and products) and strives to provide tasty and balanced meals with a proportionate amount of carbohydrates, protein and fats. It prepares everything on site in its kitchen everyday.

Still in its soft opening, Fuse Creations will be serving up ramen dishes, but will also have starters and mains that are a bit more substantial (steak, miso cod). Its signature, Fuse Ramen, is a tonkotsu (thick pork soup) based shoyu ramen with yakibuta, char siu, soy infused egg, leek, and a blend of oils.

A contemporary new resto and pub, Brew N’ Chew just opened its doors this month. Featuring Southwestern-inspired, Italian, Asian and international dishes, it will also have your everyday comfort food (think burgers, beers, margaritas and cocktails), as well as classic American fare such as Baby Back Ribs, Fajitas and more.
